Hmm...I could have swore that I've updated since that last post....Perhaps it was only in my mind...
Anyways, I hope you all are doing well. Things have been quite hectic around here as usual. We are currently looking for a new home...either to rent, or hopefully to buy...although prospects for buying are looking pretty grim. The houses that we can afford in this city are smaller than the one that we are currently renting, and that is already too small for us. UK houses are just so damn expensive. £100,000 will buy you a tiny 2 bedroom terraced house with a tiny kitchen and a small living room and a dinky bathroom that doesn't even have a bathtub. and you can forget about closets..they just don't have them here. If I took that same cash and converted it to the $, you'd have nearly $200,000 to spend and for that, you could get a massive 4 bedroom home with a huge kitchen, lounge, dining room, and a couple of bathrooms.....at the least....and probably a garage and a basement. We've been house hunting for about 3 months now and just haven't found anything at all. It doesn't help that we need to stay pretty close to the school district that my daughter is in so that she doesn't have to change schools. So it looks like we might just have to carry on renting, but I'm just rather tired of renting by now....and if we have to move (which since our landlord intends on selling our house, we most likely will have to) then I'd rather just buy and have a place that we can do whatever we want to it...
Other than that, I've been rather busy at work...and busy at home. I've been taking a fair bit of photos lately..many of which you can see at my flickr site. although I've not had a lot of time to do much other artwork. I finished my social science course and now I think i'm going to join the open college of the arts and work towards a photography degree. An art degree will give me a better prospect for getting into a masters program for Art therapy. And as much as I enjoy academia, I really hate writing essays and papers....I'd much rather be doing art.
Anyways, that's it from me for now!

gosh..i don't know where time goes.....was it really march the last time i posted??!! it only seems that it's been weeks....i always have the best intentions in blogging, but procrastination obviously gets the best of me....."yes, i really must update my blog....but i'll do it after lunch..." lunch becomes tomorrow, tomorrow becomes next week, and then all of a sudden it's been 5 months!
I wish i had 5 months worth of updates to give you, but mostly i've been reading my textbooks and doing coursework....but i guess that in this time i've decided to stick with the social sciences as i do quite enjoy them, even if i don't like writing all the essays...so instead of going into teaching, i'm going to do a psychology degree....and then when i'm finished, I'm going to combine it with my art studies and perhaps do a masters degree in art therapy...long term planning here.....i always seem to be doing long term planning...i wonder if it's not just another way of procrastinating....and probably when the time gets nearer, i will have new ideas and new goals, and so i will change directions again find some new thing....the funny thing is that when i first started university clear back in 1989, i started out doing a psychology degree....but then i was impatient and didn't really want to spend 10 more years in school......but how long have i been in higher education now?? off and on for 18 years near enough...had i just stuck with psychology in the first place, i'd be working as one by now...but i suppose i wouldn't have all my life experiences and i wouldn't have studied art in the first place, so i'd probably be doing some other branch of psych in the first place..
i haven't even had time to do artwork lately.....which is ok i suppose, since i've not been feeling very artistic...but i suppose that's probably to do with the fact that i don't have time...so it's neither here nor there...but i'm nearly done with this course...2 more months, 2 more essays...and then i've got some free time to wind down before i start my next set of courses...
I have, however, bought myself a new 100mm f2.8 macro lens, and i am in love with it! now i just need a holiday so that i can go out and use it! (i always seem to need a holiday!)
anyways, i've opened a flickr account a while back and so if you want to see some of my new photos, you can do so by clicking on the photo below.

what a difference some sun makes
after not having any sun for about 6 months now, it's nice to finally see some, and 2 days in a row at that....now if only we could get it to coincide with a weekend.
i am in desperate need to go somewhere...anywhere...spring always makes me want to travel...but alas, school and money keep me home.....nevermind...perhaps i can at least take a day trip or two soon! I've decided that i can't let school take up all of my time, so i'm doing my best to do all my reading/writing during the week so that i can least find a little time on the weekend to be creative.
and here's a piece that i did this weekend:
